As we begin 2026, we extend our warmest wishes for a year filled with health, happiness and success.
We start the year with the latest inflation data. While the figures were lower than expected, economists remain divided about what the RBA will do in February. CPI eased to 3.4%, with trimmed mean inflation down to 3.2%. Unemployment held at 4.3%, and Australian shares closed the year solidly, with the ASX 200 up almost 10% (including dividends).
